El influjo bergsoniano en la cosmovisión de Kazantzakis
Resumen
Kazantzakis luego de terminar sus estudios de derecho en Atenas viajó a París para seguir los cursos de Bergson en el Collège de France. Sus inquietudes intelectuales, una de cuyas manifestaciones fueron sus ensayos La enfermedad del siglo y ¿Está en bancarrota la ciencia?, coincidían con el interés en esas primeras décadas del siglo XX por las filosofías de la vida y los valores vitalistas que ellas promovían. El contacto con Bergson y sus enseñanzas constituyó un estímulo en la aventura intelectual y humanista de Kazantzakis, ya que con el impulso de la filosofía del maestro francés, el joven griego trata de guardar la esencia de la vida en ‗la buena palabra‘. El bergsonismo le confirmó el sentido de su lucha por la libertad. La arista vitalista del pensamiento de Kazantzakis está ligada a lo que recibió de Bergson. Kazantzakis quiso también dar a conocer al filósofo en su patria, para lo cual escribió un ensayo, Henry Bergson (1913), y tradujo una obra, La risa (1916)
Abstract
After ending his law studies in Athens, Kazantzakis travelled to Paris to attend Bergson's courses at the College de France. His intellectual interests were manifested in his essays The disease of the century and Is science bankrupt?, which coincided with the interest, during the first decades of the 20th century, of the philosophies of life and the vitalist values they supported. The contact with Bergson and his teachings was a stimulus in Kazantzakis' intellectual and humanist adventure, because with the impulse of the French master's philosophy, the young Greek man tries to keep the essence of life in the 'good word'. Bergsonism confirmed his sense of a fight for freedom. The vitalist side of Kazantzakis thought is linked to what he received from Bergson. Kazantzakis wanted to make the philosopher known in his country, and he wrote an essay, Henry Bergson (1913), and translated Laughter (1916).
